Welcome to RxHealthyHabits! We'll be discussing how to adjust your skincare routine for different seasons. By modifying your routine, you can help keep your skin healthy and glowing all year round. Today, we'll be giving tips on how to care for your skin during the cold and warm times of the year, as well as dealing with dry skin in different climates. So, lets get started!

Winter Skincare Adjustments:

  1. Hydration and Moisturizing

Hydration and moisturizing is important. One way you can help your skin is to use thicker, more emollient moisturizers to combat dryness. To maximize your moisturizing, apply moisturizers right after bathing to lock it in. Additionally, thicker creams provide a protective layer against harsh winter elements.

  1. Cleansing and Bathing:

To help your skin during bathing, try switching to creamy cleansers and avoiding hot showers. Also try limiting your bathing time to 5-10 minutes with lukewarm water. Using creamy cleansers helps to maintain the skin's natural oils.

  1. Additional Tips:

    1. Use a humidifier to add moisture to indoor air.

    2. Protect your skin from harsh winds with appropriate clothing.

    3. Humidifiers help maintain ideal indoor humidity levels.

Summer Skincare Adjustments:

  1. Sun Protection:

During the summer, it is extremely important to utilize sun protection. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and make sure to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours and after swimming. Sunscreen is important because it protects against harmful UV rays and prevents sunburn as well as protecting against skin cancer from overexposure to the sun's harmful rays.

  1. Hydration and Moisturizing:

In summertime, it is important to choose more lightweight, water-based moisturizers, such as hydrating facial mists and serums. Additionally, lightweight moisturizers prevent clogged pores in hot weather.

Tips for Combating Dry Skin in Different Climates:

  1. Dry Climates:

In more dry climates, it is important to use occlusive moisturizers to prevent moisture loss. Occlusive moisturizers create a barrier to retain moisture. Especially avoid long, hot showers and use a humidifier.

  1. Humid Climates:

When dealing with a lot of humidity, useing lightweight, non-comedogenic products is best for your skin. Non-comedogenic products prevent clogged pores in humid conditions. Also focus on cleansing to remove sweat and oil buildup.
